At Peacemaker we hire employees with a minimum 3 years of experience as a caregiver or CNA. We do background checks, drug screening and we train every employee on Peacemaker Policies and Procedures. Peacemaker is not for everyone, but before a caregiver works with your loved one, they have had a thorough individual assessment and training.
The essentiALZ® Dementia Care Training Program, developed by the Alzheimer's Association, provides professional care providers with evidence-based, person-centered training for dementia care. This self-paced, three-hour online course includes videos and interactive activities, covering five key areas: the basics of Alzheimer's and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and communication changes and dementia-related behavior

All of our caregivers complete their in classroom training at the University of Louisville Trager Institue of Optimal Aging Clinic to learn first-hand from the local experts on the best practices for effective communication strategies with dementia clients, dealing with repetitive thoughts and behaviors, anger and aggression, and dealing with hallucinations and delusions.
All of our caregivers will have this UofL Trager Institute traning.
